Dubai Duty Free has been named as the world’s largest single airport retail operator, according to new figures released by independent industry experts Generation Research. The study found that DDF recorded sales of $1.1bn last year, placing it ahead of London Heathrow and Seoul Incheon International Airport, which had sales of just over $1.0bn.
Dubai Duty Free celebrated its 25th anniversary in December 2008, and with the opening of a new terminal in October last year, it now operates over 15,000 sq m, with staff levels of around 3,500 employees.
