India remained the largest market and primary driver of air traffic growth of UAE's second largest airport in Abu Dhabi, with 18.9 per cent more Indians travelling through the facility this year.
While the airport witnessed a 10.3 per cent increase in traffic, Indians were the primary drivers of this growth while Pakistan retained its second place, figures revealed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) said.
A total passenger traffic of 9,23,124 was recorded at the airport during the month of July this year, as against 8,37,129 in the same period last year.
London emerged as the busiest destination with 50,900 passengers, followed by Bangkok at 40,465.
The traffic peaked on July 30 this year, with 32,895 passengers arriving, departing and transferring at the airport, while the daily average stood at 29,779.
Australia continued its rapid passenger growth with an increase of 133.
